The Introduction states that it was written to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Holy See's first approbation of the Holy Rule on 15 May, 1741. The introduction further states, This document is a review of the life of the Rule and Constitutions from their conception in 1720 till their approval in 1741 by Pope Benedict XIV.
