My dear Father Mangan
Permit me to thank you for your kind
note of the 25 instant
Regarding the placement of an ad
yetesement in the papers. One of our
Superiors in E ngland wrote me
yesterday saying that she had already
placed one in the Universe which
will run for seven Sundays
That will suffice but when I spoke
of it I did not know that she
had already negotiated for this.
Besides, Father Senan has kindly
offered to write an article, for
The Father Matthews Riport for the month
f June. I certainly feel grateful
and privileged to be granted this
great favor
With sincere gratitude for your kindly
interest and humbly soliciting your
good prayers Father Iam
Sincerely yours inJ

Your Grace I my dear Archbishop
Rev. Mother General wishes me to return again to Ireland
in March to recruit some postulants. You have given me
the permission twice to visit the schools in your Arch-
diocese. May I humbly ask a renewal of this same
permission, please? Last year's visit was blessed as
six postulants four from your Diocese are to take the
Holy Habit on the Feast of St. Joseph I hope, God
willing to be in South Wales for the Investiture and well
cross over to Ireland on March 21. or 22. Itis a source
of deepest gratitude for me! Without your kind, per -
mission and encouragement these young girls might
never have found their way to our humble Congregation
This Year, I am hoping for even greater things from
our Lady as it is her Year. My trust is so extravagant
that I know she will find our Congregation a House
in Ireland. No one ever had recourse to thee, without a
taining... May I kindly ask your prayers that my love
trust be realized, You are never forgotten in my daily
prayers, my dear Archbishop,
Most Respectfully yours in

Your Grace my dear Archbishop
Before leaving I wish to tell you that I
sow Mr. Ryan on Friday afternoon and
Mr. Tierney and Mr Jones on Saturday
morning. The three were very kind.
t received some information regard-
ing the loan from Mr Ryan together
with the assurance that I would
hardly be needed in Dublin before
the New year, I told Ms. Tierney
about the heating system and your
suggestion in considering it in
vuu of a larger plant later sister
Ann Mary was able to go over the
initiative plans with Mr. Jones and
several changes were suggested
I did lill him to provide a few
more private words and expand
the sanilary facilities. Your suggestion
your Grace that he consult Mr. Tierney
with the plans was nor forgotten.
The three men promised to write me
in Rome as information, is gathered
With these contacts completed I feel that
I can depart with an easier mind,
I am profoundly grateful to Your Grace
for all you have done for me during these
Past four years but especially during
these past four months You have been
not only generous and kind but that to
a most delicate degree. Even a bronze
statue of you in the hall of Edenmore
wouldn t be sufficient to express
my appreciation
The two Sisters were simply charmed
with theer visit and deeply apprece-
ated your kindness in allowing them
so much of your precious time your
Grace.
It gave me increased pleasure
that my own Sisters had the privi
lege of meeting you
This evening the Medical Missionaries
gave a little Sing Song before our
departure While in the Reception Room
I sat on the opposite side to my usual
position, Your photo on the mantel piece
is always a reminder but to-night even
on the opposite side it seemed you
had turned and were looking my way
Now I am convinced the more that I
like that photo best because whether
to the right left or in front of it I
trink I am in your immediate presence
Your Grace It is my first picture of you in 1937
O I wrote to Father Finucane and told
him I would try to do what I could
abour Rockwell when I return
as-
suring him that I would only
to
glad to be one of those going.
R
would give me keen satisfaction to do
something for the Holy Ghost Fathers
St. Joseph may offer us some solu
tirn for Fathers Finucane is difficulty
Back in the Eternal City my prayers
you, Your Grace will be intensified at
I recall all your Fatherly kindnesses, God
grant I may not prove too unworthy of
them, In the depths of my soul I feel so
unworthy. That I may become less so I humbly
beg your prayers and blessing, Your Grace

On my return from Waterford
I rang Father Mangan out you were
leaving again in an hours time.
since, I have had no word
I am sorry that I neglected
To
thank you for your kind and fatherly
word of welcome. lruly your Grace,
I had hoped to say it before this
Yesterday, I went over the plans again
with Mr. Jones Shortly before I left
Rome he wrote giving a general is te
mate of what it would cost to ren
ovate Edenmore according to the
plans he drew up
Rev. Mother
General said the price was all
together too much, especially since
the house was an old one, so we
discussed something much less
elaborate and yet something that
will meet the demands of a private
Nursing Home
I wrote to Father Finucane telling of
my arrival and receivid a very nice
letter of reply. If he doesnt get our
Sisters I am afraid St. Joseph will
have keenly disoppointed him. But
fat won t hoppen I am sure
At the Bank of Ieland I met
Mr. Dwyer and deposited for safetys
sake some checks I received
There has been no further word from
Mr. O'Brien or Mr Ryan
Your Grace I have not begun the
visits to the Schools as the weather
has been so bad but God willing I
hope I shall be able to do so soon
I truly hesitate to ask for an inter-
riew but I do hope for one soon
Trusting that you are keeping well
and humbly asking your blessing
remain my dear Archbishop

Feast of our Lady, Queen of Arave
Your Grace my dear Archbishop
Ayear ago to night I wrote to you, thanking
you for he permission of visiting the schools
in your Diocese asking you for an inter-
view and assuring you of my prayers Do
you remember it! So many things of such
lovely significance have emanated from that
request, that I think I shall always write
to you on its anniversary! Profound grat-
itude prompts me, your Grace.
Let me thank you for the renewal of the
permission so kindly given, of visiting the
schools while I reiterate that you are daily
in my prayers, your Grace
I am very happy that Rockwell is prac-
tically settled and that our Sisters will G.H.
be able to go there in Mid- August There may
bee a delay in the arrival of the nurse until
he Sisters for Edenmore can come
I am enclosing the recent letter of Mr. O Brien
in case you have not heard from him. The date
for the settlement has been set and this is a
move forward, But it is a bit disheartening
to think that after the settlement another six
months will elapse before we can call
Edenmore our own. Fiat. I am trying to
accept this as best for us since Our Lord

seems to want it that way. It does how-
ever leave me with the question of what to
do next
Your Grace I would love to see you but I
hate to trouble you, when I know you have so
Many and much more important problems
weighing on you. You must be tired and weary.
Our Lady, Queen of the Universe did much for
me on her first Feast and I am confident that in
answer to her beloved Spouses pleas she will
do even greater things for me this year. When
St. Joseph appeals to her he is irresistible I
confide my desires for you my dear Archbishop
to him while I humbly ask you to bless me
who remains

Your Grace my dear Archbishop
Thank you for your gracious note of Saturday
and for your suggestion. I had everything
as I thought, settled when I received another
telegram saying Rev. Mother General well
arrive Thursday night at 10:40!! Fiat!
Something must have gone amiss but I
am quite sure my cousin will be able to
meet her and bring her to Rosemount G.4.
Friday afternoon then we shall go on to
Rockwell, and I shall contact you by
letter to find out when it will be convenient
for you to see Rev Mother
How kind of you to pass on to me that
encouraging word from Mr OBrien. I
am grateful to you Your Grace
In appreciation I promise to pray very
earnestly for you during these days of
Retreat when you will speak to your priests
That an influence and inspiration you are.
You will say a wee word in favor
of dear Saint Joseph, will you not? Next
te our Lady no saint reflected the beauties
of the Divine Priest as st. Joseph did. His
life was so similar to our Priests
Thanking you again, your Grace, for all
your kindnesses and looking forward to
seeing you in the near future I beg your
blessing and prayers, please
Most respectfully in M.
Your grateful child
S.Mary de Pazzi
