Originally a printed book: 'In memoriam, Peter Fenelon' Collier (New York: privately printed, 1910), 113 pp. The book was subsequently used to house newspaper cuttings mainly relating to the history and friars of the Capuchin community, Holy Trinity Friary in Cork. The volume includes cuttings relating to triduums, ordinations, transfers, provincial chapters, missions and retreats, the Third Order of St. Francis, a note on the Father Mathew Chalice, and various Capuchin apostolates in Cork. The volume also contains obituaries of Fr. Bernard Jennings OSFC (d. 26 Dec. 1904); Fr. Cyril O'Sullivan OSFC (9 Dec. 1921); Fr. Fiacre Brophy OSFC (d. 5 Oct. 1926). Includes an original photographic print of Fr. Fiacre’s funeral; Fr. Peter Bowe OSFC (d. 25 Nov. 1926); Fr. Dermot O’Reilly OFM Cap. (d. 9 May 1945); Fr. Crispin Brennan OFM Cap. (d. 3 July 1949); Fr. Pacificus Ryan OFM Cap. (d. 1 July 1950); Fr. John Butler OFM Cap. (d. 3 Oct. 1950); Archbishop Sylvester Mulligan OFM Cap. (d. 23 Oct. 1950); Fr. Thomas Dowling OFM Cap. Brendan Jennings memorial sanctuary (19 Apr. 1908); a report on the completion of Father Mathew Memorial Church, 'Cork Examiner', 29 Aug. 1891; a note affirming that ‘Fr. J.P. Assignment from the Munster Bank Ltd. (the vendors) to Fr. Simeon Gaudillot OSFC (1836-1910), Fr. Nicholas Maurice Murphy OSFC and Fr. Bernard Joseph Jennings OSFC, Charlotte Quay, Cork (the purchasers) of the residue of a lease dated Oct. 1781 (see CA HT/2/1/2/4) of premises on Charlotte Quay in consideration of £2,500 – £500 to be paid immediately with the remaining sum to be paid in ‘five instalments of £400 each within five years from the date hereof with interest’. With a deed of covenant from the Bank indemnifying the purchasers in respect of any legacies, law suits, equity claims and demands arising out of the will and codicils of William Clarke on the said premises. The file also includes a copy memorial of an assignment from Fr. Seraphim Van Damme OSFC and others to Henry Sutton Noblet, solicitor, 25 South Mall, Cork, of the residue of the aforementioned lease in consideration of £20 (dated 1882).

The deed refers to the intended purchase by the Capuchin friars of the said premises as set out in a deed of assignment dated 21 Jan. 1895. With a declaration of James Scanlan, 69 South Mall, Cork, agent, affirming that he has, for the past sixteen years, received the rents of the Charlotte Quay properties for Thomas Wellbank Morgan. 1 Jan. 1895.

Peter Edward Bowe OSFC, Charlotte Quay, of the residue of a lease dated 18 Mar. 1762 from Charles Dunbar to James Morrison, William Fritton and Ebenezer Morrison referring to a portion of the ‘marsh called Island Nagay adjoining the Corporation Marsh in the south suburbs of the city of Cork’.
