Robert Ratigan References is also made to a monument erected to the memory of Fr. Thomas Murphy OSFC (died 13 June 1817 aged 73 years) and Fr. William Berry OSFC (died 20 Oct. 1822 aged 80 years) and to Fr. Patrick Joseph Mulligan OSFC (died 4 Dec. 1853 aged 74 years), Fr. J.E. Tommins OSFC (died 29 July 1889 aged 78 years) and Br. Edward Foley OSFC, Cleric Novice (died 24 Sept. 1889 aged 16 years).
Letter from Thomas W. Franks, solicitor, agent for the Harty Estate, to John Lanigan & Nolan, solicitors, regarding the sale by John Slater of premises on Pennyfeather Lane to the Capuchin Friary. Franks refers to the Capuchins’ intention to ‘buy this property in order that they may have room for building at a future date … and to their intention to demolish the existing buildings on this holding which are more less derelict’. With a letter from John Lanigan & Nolan to Fr. Bonaventure Murphy OFM Cap. confirming that the purchase of John Slater’s premises has been completed. The file also includes an acknowledgment from John Slater, a rent receipt and a certificate of rateable valuation for the said holding (30 Jan. 1939).
Letter to Fr. Bonaventure Murphy OFM Cap., guardian, from the Home Rule Club, John’s Quay, Kilkenny, conveying the organisation’s sympathy on the loss sustained by the Order following the death of Fr. Raphael Quinn OFM Cap. in California.
Letter to Fr. Bonaventure Murphy OFM Cap. from Fr. Valentine OFM, Franciscan Convent, St. Laurence Street, Drogheda, enclosing a statement regarding Teresa Bradley’s (formerly Gilmartin) membership of the local congregation of the Third Order of St. Francis.
Letter from Margaret 'Aggie' Bibby to Fr. Bonaventure Murphy OFM Cap. She writes that she has met ‘friends of poor Tomás [Fr. Albert Bibby OFM Cap.] who had just come from America. Immediately after his death the leaders of A.A.R.I.R. made a request on superior Fr. Joseph [Fenlon] to be allowed ship his body to Ireland as Tomás wished. He cabled to Fr. Peter [Bowe]. Reply came two days later: "Bury Fr. Albert in Santa Inez in the usual way". She later notes that care was taken to ensure that Fr. Albert's body was buried in a ‘metal casket hermetically sealed’. She concludes by expressing the hope that her brother's ‘bones will rest in the land he loved so well. Never shall we forget the Franciscan tyrants’.

Letter from Fr. Kevin Moynihan OFM Cap., Provincial Secretary, to Fr. Bonaventure Murphy OFM Cap., guardian, referring to a request from Monsignor Killian Flynn OFM Cap. for some items which he requires for the missions.
Letter from Fr. Albert Bibby OFM Cap. to Fr. Bonaventure Murphy OFM Cap., referring to a meeting with a Fr. Keoghan re Sr. Brigid. Fr. Albert askes Fr. Bonaventure to ‘assure her that we are making a big fight for her. Everyone who stands by Ireland to-day is suffering. She suffers because of her devotion to us …’.
Letter from Fr. Albert Bibby [to Fr. Bonaventure Murphy OFM Cap.] referring to arrangements for sailing on the 'Republic' steamship from Cobh on 20 June. He also refers to his meeting in Goresbridge with Angela Cook, ‘a niece of Mrs McCurtain’, who is keen on joining a congregation of nuns. He concludes by stating that he has had a letter from Fr. Dominic O’Connor OFM Cap. who is in ill-health.
Letter from Fr. Albert Bibby, Capuchin Friary, Kilkenny, to Fr. Bonaventure Murphy OFM Cap., referring to arrangements for his departure to the United States. He writes ‘I probably shall remain on here until at least [the] end of this month, possibly longer. All will depend on [the] letter from Provincial’. He also refers to his feelings re his imminent departure. He adds ‘I have now got over 1st effects of announcement. They feel it very much at home. But in this part of [the] world there is a very intense feeling or attitude of "ecclesia" towards all of our friends. This feeling is even more marked here than in Dublin'. He also refers to Br. Bonaventure McCafferty OFM Cap. who, he suggests, is 'under a microscope' following a recent meeting in Cobh.
