A bound volume containing newspaper clippings containing a transcription by An tAthair Peadar Ó Laoghaire of a medieval text on the life of Colum Cille (also known as Columba) (c.521-597), the founder of the monastery of Iona. The articles also contain translations and textual notes. The clippings are undated, but all the articles are headed ‘Our Gaelic Department / Colum Cille’ and are likely taken from the ‘Cork Examiner’.

Statement of accounts of John Delaney, building yards and joinery works, Henry Street, Cork, to James Finbarre McMullen, architect, for contract work on Holy Trinity Church, on the adjoining Capuchin Friary, and on 24 South Mall. The costs relate to the addition of an extension to the Church, extensive interior decoration and structural alterations. ‘Irish View Scenery’ cards issued by Gallaher Cigarette Company Ltd. The cards are numbered: ‘No. 60: Father Mathew’s R.C. Church, Cork’; ‘No. 310: Father Mathew Statue, Cork’. The cards were issued by Gallaher Ltd. between 1908 and 1910. The complete set runs to 600 cards. Many of the photographs were taken by Robert John Welch from Belfast, and by William Lawrence, a Dublin-based photographer and studio owner. With a cover letter (dated 18 June 1982) to Fr. Nessan Shaw OFM Cap. from Walter McGrath explaining their provenance.

The smaller copy of the print has the following annotation: ‘Taken over 20 years ago, at some kind of reception given to the Stewards by his tenants xx – Sir Peter and Lady Stewart. Arrow on photograph points to present gardener (W. Barr)’.
