The costs relate to the addition of an extension to the Church, extensive interior decoration and structural alterations. • The visit of Fr. Victor of Chamonix OSFC ‘to enquire into the state of the Capuchin Order in Ireland and to make arrangements for the appointment of a “Commissary General” deputed by the superiors in Rome to remedy whatever abuses may be found to exist’. 10 June 1856, pp 236-37.

The book provides details of cheque payments made in respect of wages, household and food expenses, friars’ expenses, masses, electricity and other utilities, medical costs, church repairs and tax. The volume also has several bank reconciliations. Monthly and year summaries of cash expenditure are provided at the end of the volume for the years 1972-77.
