Has written and wired to Hilary that permission has been obtained for him to celebrate mass on board ship (on voyage to Australia?). Bishop McAllister has got the Propaganda letter, but is on visitation at the moment and has not scrutinised it completely. He claims some of the Passionists allegations are untrue. Propaganda has told Thomas that there is no law compelling a bishop to give faculties to all religious in a community, but he cannot refuse faculties to all either. He can use his discretion as to how many faculties he gives.. The Dominicans have come up against this problem also (and that seems to have been the decison given?). Can't expect new law just for C.Ps.

Deals with matters raised by the bishop concerning the new church and his apparent annoyance at remarks made by some Passionists in the matter. He also deals with the bishop's further references to an erring Passionist.
