Murphy, Archbishop Redmond Prendiville, Peggy Spillane (gives news of his decision to ‘retire from the Order, devote my remaining years to the writing of books, offer Mass every morning, and live wherever I choose myself’, 3 Dec. 1958), Fr. The file contains the following edition of this local newspaper: 23 Oct. 1948 (Vol. 55, No. 43). The edition carries reports on the celebrations of the tercentenary of the arrival of the Capuchin Order in Kilkenny including a sermon preached by Fr. James O’Mahony OFM Cap. on the history of the Capuchins in the city. The celebrations were attended by the Most Rev. Patrick Collier, Bishop of Ossory, Fr. Bonaventure McCafferty OFM Cap., Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap., F.J. McGeary, editor of the Irish Independent and Mr. T.F. De Loughrey, Mayor of Kilkenny.
