Albert Bibby OFM Cap. and Fr. Dominic O’Connor OFM Cap., where Mr. O’Kelly and Mr. de Valera made their last appearance together as President and Taoiseach. A view of the Mercy Hospital (now Mercy University Hospital) in Cork in 1938. The caption to the photograph notes that the building was ‘once the Mansion House’, a reference to the fact that the oldest part of the hospital was built between 1764 and 1767 and that the original building served as the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Cork until 1842.
