1846034 Bl. Charles Houben, C.P., Cures during is life-time: letter from Catherine Lynch, 6 St. Joseph's Alms Houses, Brook Green, London:, reporting the case of a girl, Mary Kate Cope from Co. Mayo or Roscommon, cured of paralysis from the waist down. Fr. Charles said that if she was cured something would befall a member of her family. Two years after her cure, her little sister was shot by accident and killed!

Urban had acted as Vice-Postulator in the cause of Blessed Dominic and he gives some practical advice to Gerald on how to proceed. Mentions that there would be no objection from Rome to Oswald Donnelly publishing his life of Charles while the process was in progress.

Blessed Charles - Cause;- Informative Process - draft of a letter (partial) from Gerald O'Boyle to Msgr. Howlett, Adm., Westminister Cathedral. Gerald mentions the case of Miss McCartney (see item under srial no, 6116) re Lt. Col McCartney who is prepared to give evidence of her cure to the Msgr. Gerald is anxious to know whether the favour mentioned by the Lt.Col. would justify the setting up of a Rogatorial Process in Westminister. (N.B., This draft is only a partial one and there is no reply extant. However, it or another such must have been despatched as a rogatorial process was held in Westmnister at which Dr. McCartney gave evidence v. p IV of Tabella Testum and pp 12 & 36-37 of Summarium Super Dubio at 34-19 (A) or (B))

Blessed Charles - Cause;- Informative Process - letter from Eugene Nevin, Highgate, to Gerald O'Boyle concerning evidence from a Miss McCartney regarding a cure in 1913 and attributed to Charles. This cure had been referred to by a Lt. Col. McCartney, who is evidently a doctor and possibly a relation of Miss McCartney, who now resides in Mexico City and was married about six months ago. Lt. Col, McCartney suggests that he might give his evidence to Msgr. Howlett, Adm., Westminster Cathedral. Eugene does not think Rome would agree to this, but might if appealed to. (See item under serial no. 6117 for follow up to this.)

Oliver Kelly, C.P., Vice-Postulator for the Cause, by the McEvoy family. One contains a lock of Blessed Charle's hair and the other a card containing part of the habit worn by him. Both items are certified by Fr. Dominic O,Neill, C.P.,, Provincial Councillor. Also included in this folder are two envelopes in Blessed Charles's handwriting, which were posed from St. Helen's to Mrs. McEvoy
