This is the second newsletter from Botswana. It is winter and vegetation to feed the cattle is very scarce. Poverty is rampant. Children flock to the schools, but there are few traditional Catholic families. The new convent of St. Teresa's Mission, Lobatsi was opened on the feast of St. Gabriel by Monsignor Murphy. An accouint of progress in Lobatsi is given, as is that at Ramoutsa. A progress report on St. Joseph's College, Khale, and accounts concerning Morwa. Malalapye, Francistown are su[pplied. Carthage appeals to his bretehrn to send on books suitable for priestly life.

On the title page is a note of thanks from Fr. Caspar, C.P., to Edmund for a job well done, dated 12.10.1960. Attached to fly-leaf is a letter from Fr. Caspar to Edmund conveyng the WF General's appreciation. Caspar makes the point that the translation will be used in the Philipines as well as in Africa. THIS ITEM IS MISSING.
At this location is a letter from the General to Edmund, dated 06.10.1960 congratulatng Edmund on the translation and telling him it will be of great assistance to our Fathers in Jeruselem, where one of them is chaplain to an old folks' home whose immates are mostly Muslim and where there has already been several converts. In view of the missing item above, this letter is being located in this spot.
