A hardbound volume containing copies of the ‘Daily Mirror’ (11 May 1916-17 May 1916). Gilt title to spine reads ‘Roger Casement / 1916’. The editions include numerous articles and photographic content covering the aftermath of the Easter Rising (including the executions of the rebel leaders) and the ongoing Great War. There is also extensive coverage and photographic images relating to the capture and trial of Roger Casement.

Concerning an applicant to Glenstal called Patrick O Connor, who had applied previously to The Columbans at Dalgan Park, County Galway. The present day Dalgan Park is now in Navan, Co. Meath. The name moved with the relocation of the Columbans to Navan.

The image shows (left) Edward White Benson (1829-1896), Archbishop of Canterbury, and (right) William Conyngham Plunket, 4th Baron Plunket (1828-1897), the Anglican Archbishop of Dublin. The newspaper title from which the clipping was taken is not given.
