Dunquin Pier, County Kerry

Two postcard print views of Dunquin Pier (‘Cé Dhún Chaoin’) in County Kerry. The pier serves as the departure point for the seasonal (summer) ferry service to the Blasket Islands.

O’Connell Street, Limerick

A view of O’Connell Street in Limerick in about 1940. The clock tower in the distance in the image stood atop Cannock’s Department Store. It was demolished after the store was taken over by Penneys (Primark) in 1980.

St. Mary's Church, Kilkenny

A view of the thirteenth-century St. Mary’s Church as seen from Rose Inn Street in Kilkenny in about 1940. An annotation on the reverse of the print refers to the building as 'Old St. Mary's', presumably to distinguish it from the later St Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Kilkenny.

Portarlington, County Laois

A view of the River Barrow at Portarlington in County Laois. A manuscript annotation on the reverse of the print reads 'Portarlington / where the Barrow is the border between Leix and Offaly'.

Knocklofty Bridge, County Tipperary

A view of Knocklofty Bridge over the River Suir in about 1935. The bridge is located near Clonmel on the border between Counties Tipperary and Waterford. A manuscript annotation on the reverse of the print reads 'Knocklofty Bridge (River Suir) / dividing County Waterford from County Tipperary'.
