Staines was the Sinn Féin candidate, and he defeated John Dillon Nugent (Irish Parliamentary Party) in the contest. The flier was issued by W.J. Norman, 57 Dame Street, Staines’s election agent.

The flier asks the ‘Electors of South Dublin show your disapproval of all such hellish acts by recording your vote for Michael O’Mullane’. Published in Dublin by Joseph Clarke.
