An image of La Retraite on Gaol Walk, Mardyke, in Cork city. The building was originally a hostel used by female students attending University College Cork. The house and its adjoining grounds were acquired by the University in 1977. It was renamed Áras Na Laoi and it now houses both academic and administrative units of the college.
A view of the road (along the shores of Carlingford Lough) to the village of Rostrevor in County Down in about 1940. Slieve Martin is prominent in the background of the image.
