Assignment from Mary Deegan to Fr. Ignatius Collins and Fr. Thaddeus Field

Assignment from Mary Deegan, Walkin Street, to Fr. Patrick Ignatius Collins OFM Cap. and Fr. Denis Thaddeus Field OFM Cap., Capuchin Friary, Kilkenny, of a dwelling house and premises situated on Walkin Street. The deed recites that Kate Horner (died 17 Aug. 1933) was possessed of premises on Walkin Street held on a monthly or weekly tenancy from the Corporation of Kilkenny. Mary Deegan, as Kate Horner’s executrix, agrees to sell the deceased’s interest in the premises subject to the payment of rent and the performance of the tenant’s obligations for £100. With copy memoranda of agreement and copy probate of Mary Kate Horner dated 10 Oct. 1933.

Register of Masses

Register of masses at the Church of St. Francis, Kilkenny. The title is extant on the first page: ‘Register Missarum, 1917’. The entries include the signatures of the celebrants. Entries were routinely signed by the guardian and by the Provincial Minister at visitations. A manuscript addition on the final page of the volume reads: ‘N.B. One Mass said by Fr. McCartan on the 12th August ad intentionem privatam – stipend given [to] superior and money [to] Fr. Ignatius Collins OSFC of Cork. Entered under lending of alms’.
