Commentarius Rinuccinanus

A file containing ‘Lastre a gelatine bromuro d’argento … di Cappelli, Milano’ box containing four large plate reproductions of an original manuscript. The box cover gives two dates of 1906 and 1911 (probably company awards). A faint manuscript annotation on the box reads: ‘Catalogo Campione’. The manuscript is titled on the first plate: ‘De haeresis Anglicanae in Iberniam intrusione et progressu, et de Bell Catholico ad annum 1641 caepto, exindeque per aliquot gesto, Commentarius’. The plates are images of the original copy of the ‘Commentarius Rinuccinanus’ held in the Archivio Storico Milano. The original text was destroyed in a bombing raid on Milan during the Second World War.

Collection Account Book

Account book for street collections in aid of the Capuchin friars, St. Mary of the Angels, Church Street. The entries are arranged under the headings of organiser’s/collector’s name, address, collecting district and monthly collection totals. Most of the districts were in the north inner city and surrounding areas. Ink stamp on inside cover reads: ‘Our Lady of Angels, Church Street’.

'Coís Tine'

Copies of 'Coís Tine' (Winter 2006 and Spring 2007) published by the Dominican friars, St. Mary’s, Pope’s Quay, Cork. The articles refer to the works of the Cork Capuchins with local migrant communities. Includes a photograph print of Fr. Kevin Kiernan OFM Cap., the 'Coís Tine' chaplain.

Clippings of Colum Cille text with Translation by An tAthair Peadar Ó Laoghaire

A bound volume containing newspaper clippings containing a transcription by An tAthair Peadar Ó Laoghaire of a medieval text on the life of Colum Cille (also known as Columba) (c.521-597), the founder of the monastery of Iona. The articles also contain translations and textual notes. The clippings are undated, but all the articles are headed ‘Our Gaelic Department / Colum Cille’ and are likely taken from the ‘Cork Examiner’.
