Conveyance by John Vesey, 2nd Viscount de Vesci to his son Thomas Vesey of Abbeyleix, MP for Queens’ County (later 3rd Viscount de Vesci), of a moiety of the aforementioned plot of ground on the west side of Church Street whereupon a Roman Catholic Church is built, held by Fr. Bonaventure Delaney OSFC as specified in the above noted lease of 4 Aug. 1826. (See CA CS/2/2/1/2). In consideration of 10s. With a printed form certifying that the aforementioned Thomas Vesey was registered as a voter in the city of Dublin by right of freehold for the yearly value on properties situated at Church Street. 20 Nov. 1838.
Receipt for an Inland Revenue payment made by Fr. Daniel Patrick O’Reilly OSFC and other Capuchin friars for a plot of ground on which the Roman Catholic Church on Church Street stands. The properties are held under a deed dated 9 July 1875. The statement notes that these premises were ‘demised in 1826 for a term of 99 years at the yearly rent of £46 3s 0d and the landlord’s interest therein sold in 1875 to Rev. Mr. O’Reilly and others’.
Newspaper clippings referring to the sale of Father Mathew Hall and the Bow Street Friary. The file includes articles relating to the history of the Hall, its current condition and the need for conservation of the elaborate arch decorated with Celtic Revival emblems within the Hall. The clippings are from the 'Irish Times' and 'Sunday Business Post'.
Blank membership cards for the Father Mathew Total Abstinence Hall, Cork. A summary copy of the general rules is extant on one of the cards and subscription and arrears details are extant on the other two.
Programmes for the Father Mathew Feis, Cork. The printed programmes include timetables and syllabuses of competitions, and souvenir publications. The programmes list the dates and times of the competitions and the names of the various judges and adjudicators. The following programmes are extant: 1927-8; 1932; 1937-8; 1941; 1946; 1961; 1963-4; 1968; 1971-9; 1980-9; 1990-9; 2000-13; 2015.
Newspaper clippings mostly relating to the Feis Maitiú, Cork. Many of the clippings include photographic prints of the opening of the Feis. Includes clippings from the 'Evening Press', 'Evening Echo' and 'Cork Examiner'.
Register of masses at St. Mary of the Angels. The volume also includes occasional lists of mass intentions. The title page contains a manuscript annotation: ‘Missarum Liber Patrum Capuccinorum’. Both the front and end covers are decorated with rough sketches and drawings of crosses with various signatures and other scribbles. A drawing of a cross contains the inscription: ‘In R.I.P. memoriam Hic Jacet [here lies] Revd. James Edward Tommins OSFC (1812-1889)’. One of the other sketches shows a procession and is titled ‘In memoriam, Church Street, Sunday, May 4th 1884’.
Register of masses at St. Mary of the Angels. The title page is annotated: ‘St Mary of the Angels. … Patrick Nolan departed this city on April, 2nd 1907’. The Mass entries are periodically signed by the Provincial Minister at visitations.
