Nessan Shaw OFM Cap. enclosing a list of title deeds and leases which trace the ownership of property in the Blackamoor Lane/Sullivan’s Quay area. 4 June 1970. The list traces the ownership of the site of the Capuchin Chapel on Blackamoor Lane which closed as a place of worship in 1850. Cork Corporation granted all the premises on Blackamoor Lane (including the former Friary Chapel) to the Catholic Bishop of Cork in 1892. The former Chapel was used as a meeting place for local Catholic Scouts’ groups until the late 1950s when the Catholic Bishop surrendered his interest to the Corporation which used it as a warehouse. The file also includes a cutting from 'The Evening Echo', 24 August 1991. The article refers to the conversion of the old Capuchin chapel on Blackamoor Lane into Ellroys nightclub and includes some photographic prints. The article’s author gleefully remarks that ‘Fr.
