Upon visits to convents, classes and schools where lace -making and designing for lace are taught, as well as upon steps taken for assisting the development of the lace industry in Ireland, with illustrations of specimens of recently produced laces. The Report mentions Presentation Convents Tralee, Dingle, Killarney and Youghal, Co. Cork.

This box also contains two wooden embroidery hoops, a set of instruments for lace- making, samples of small crochet squares, lengths of crochet borders, sample of lace collar with the name Sr de Lourdes, Presentation Convent Killarney on the back of it.

A handwritten account of the early years of the convent founded at Dingle on 20 October 1829 by Sisters Mary Agnes Lonergan, Teresa Fitzharris and Francis Dunne from the convent in Tralee, under the authority of the Right Reverend Dr Cornelius Egan Bishop of Kerry. The annals record the establishment of the convent, the large numbers receiving the Sacraments, the famine in 1847 and how the Sisters tried to help those who were starving, mention of Daniel O’ Connell, the Liberator, and the beginnings of the industrial school in 1851.

The Annals record the details of the Sisters daily prayer life and devotions, renovations and painting of the house, Sisters entering, professions and the deaths of Sisters; and the building of a spacious school in 1872.

A handwritten account recording details of the new classrooms which were added to the Secondary School; the appointment of Bishop Eamonn Casey as Bishop of Kerry; newspaper cuttings; co-operation with the Christian Brothers and the Technical School; the day to day life of the convent and deaths within the community. In 1976 there is mention of the Decree of Union which was officially promulgated on 25 July 1976. Includes details of the Sisters moving from the convent to a new building in 1998 and the beginnings a new project which was named “An Díseart”.
