A history of ‘The Capuchins in Kilkenny 1643-1937 – a compilation of scattered notes’ by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap. Parts I and II. Includes the early history of the Capuchins in the city, notes regarding the Alms house on Walkin Street, and the later construction of the present-day Friary building. With a bound copy (25.5 cm x 20 cm) dated at St. Mary of the Angels, Church Street, Dublin, 1938.

• Notes compiled by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap. on Fr. Theobald Mathew OSFC from 1841-5. The notes include transcribed copies of letters from Daniel O’Connell to Fr. Mathew (26 Oct. 1844) and from Fr. Mathew to Mr. Buckingham (20 Oct. 1844). The principal source was probably James McKenna’s ‘History of the temperance reformation in Ireland, England and Scotland’. Manuscript, 16 pp.
• Extract from McKenna’s ‘History of the temperance reformation in Ireland, England and Scotland’ re Fr. Mathew’s temperance campaign in Liverpool and his attitude towards distillers. ‘I have no personal hostility to distillers or brewers or vendors of strong drink’. Typescript, 2 pp.
• Extracts from John Francis Maguire’s 'Father Mathew / A Biography' and ‘History of the Temperance Reformation by James McKenna, chief travelling secretary to the Very Rev. Theobald Mathew’ confirming that Fr. Mathew first arrived in Cork in about 1814. The extracts are by Fr. Stanislaus Kavanagh OFM Cap. Typescript, 1 p.

Daily receipt and expenditure book for the Capuchin community, Church Street. The entries are made in ‘Dollard’s Scribbling Diary for 1926’ and record various sundry expenses including payments made for newspapers, stamps, and various other subscriptions. Other entries relate to payments made by various religious (possibly for retreats and missions). Entries are in the hand of Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap.

Notes compiled by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap. mainly on individual friars comprising the Capuchin community in Cork. The manuscript includes notes on houses and places of residence, a chronology of important events, community lists in the nineteenth century, superiors of the Cork House from 1832-1934, and some general information on historical sources in the Irish Capuchin Archives. The title page reads: ‘This book contains various notes referring to our Cork Convent and taken from various sources. … The notes are entered of necessity in an unconnected way’.

Short biographical histories and chronologies by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap. of Fr. Bryan McDonnell OSFC (1716-1782) and Fr. Michael Collins OSFC with particular reference to their ministries in Cork. References are made in the biography of Fr. Collins to extracts from Fr. Nicholas Archbold’s 'Historie' and Fr. Robert O’Connell’s 'Historia' which refer to his life.

Notebooks and copybooks compiled by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap. on the history of the Capuchins in Kilkenny. The books contain fragmentary notes on significant events and friars associated with the Capuchins in Kilkenny including chronologies, transcripts from old texts, foundation documents and local newspapers and biographical details on friars. The copybooks also include notes relating to:
• The building of the new Capuchin Friary on Walkin Street (1848) by Fr. Peter Joseph Mulligan OSFC.
• Transcripts of epitaphs on the tombs of Capuchin friars in Kilkenny
• Biographical notes on Fr. Fidelis (Peter) O’Rourke OSFC and Fr. J.P. O’Reilly OSFC (including notes re his missionary work in New Zealand)
• Notes on the construction of ‘the new organ built by Messrs White & Sons, Dublin, erected in the Church of St. Francis by Rev. P.J. Mulligan OSFC on Sunday, October 28th 1849’.

A note, possibly by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap., on the building by Fr. Peter Joseph Mulligan OSFC of the Capuchin Friary Church in Kilkenny in 1847. Fr. Angelus wrote ‘in the account of the celebration of the Feast of St. Francis in 1847 there is no reference to any change in the Friary Church, which was the Old Poor House Chapel … the new Church was begun between October 1847 and December 1848’.
