An image of Taaffe’s Castle in the coastal town of Carlingford in County Louth in about 1950. This fortified town house was purportedly built in the early sixteenth century by the Taffee's, an affluent merchant family.

Surrender by James Spring, 65 Eccles Street, Dublin, to Fr. Daniel Patrick O’Reilly OSFC, Fr. Patrick Joseph (Columbus) Maher OSFC, Fr. James Edward Tommins OSFC and Fr. Christopher Augustus Nangle OSFC of a plot ground on the west side of Church Street whereupon a Roman Catholic Church (St. Mary of the Angels) now stands. Reference is made to the residue of the term of 99 years granted in the original lease of this plot of ground dating to 4 Aug. 1826
Surrender by Pauline Curtin to Fr. Honorius O’Neill OFM Cap., Fr. Berard Creed OFM Cap. and Fr. Cormac Forrest OFM Cap., Capuchin Friary, Father Mathew Quay, Cork, of a lease dated 11 Mar. 1931 by Thomas Ronayne Sarsfield and others to Kathleen Curtin (from year to year at the annual rent of £52). The consideration money for the surrender is £3,250. The agreement notes that the interests of Thomas Ronayne Sarsfield and the other trustees of the property (22 South Mall) are now vested in the Capuchin friars. With related correspondence.
