The pages have been numbered by Fr. Stanislaus. The book includes on pp 71-82; 86-92; 97-100; 123-124 numerous cuttings reporting on the 1916 Rising and its aftermath. Some of the reports refer to Fr. Augustine Hayden OFM Cap. and his ministering to Con Colbert.

The articles are chiefly in English, with some in Irish. The paper was printed for the proprietors by Gaelic Publishers, 96 Patrick Street, Cork. In November and December 1918 'The Student' was published twice weekly because of the general election cf. issue for 27 Nov. 1918. Parallel title at head: 'Macléighinn'.
