Dillon suggests that some of the articles in the ‘Annual’ could be described as ‘blatant, if incongruous Fianna Fáil propaganda’. The letter was published in the ‘Irish Independent’ (10 July 1942).

She added ‘My sister [Mary MacSwiney] was anxious to see it too, and now – I cannot realise that she and my brother are gone & life is irretrievably changed for me. It is good that incessant, unending work is my lot’.
