Conveyance from George Chapman, Kilkenny City, smith, to Richard Empson, Kilkenny City, merchant, of a lease of a house on Walkin Street, Kilkenny, ‘commonly called and known by the name of the Munster Arms’, for three lives (renewable forever) at the yearly rent of £14 10s, and in consideration of £140. A recital of an earlier lease (dated 8 Apr. 1769) by William Colles to George Chapman of the said house for three lives at the yearly rent of £14 10s is given. The reverse of the lease is endorsed with a rental of the said premises (Head rent: £35 3s 10½d; Profit rent: £20 13s 10½d). With a manuscript copy of the said conveyance.

Renewal of a lease from Abraham Colles, doctor of physic, Dublin, Richard Colles, Riverview, Kilkenny, Rev. Thomas Ottewell Moore, Leskinferne, County Wexford and his wife Rachel Moore (née Colles), to Joseph Empson, boot and shoemaker, Kilkenny city, of the premises known as the ‘Munster Arms’ on Walkin Street, Kilkenny, in consideration of one peppercorn in fines payable for the renewal of lives in the original lease. Certified amount: £46 7s 11d. 28 Aug. 1918.

Letter from James F. Reade, Waterford, to Nicholas Shorthal, solicitor, enclosing a sketch map (32.6 cms x 21.4 cms; Scale: 1 inch to 50 feet) of premises to be conveyed by Rev. Robinson to Fr. Edward (Peter) Bowe. Reade adds some explanatory comments in relation to the sketch map and affirms that ‘Sir Henry Harte has nothing to do with the yards above mentioned’. Includes a schedule of tenants holding on lots on the premises. The said sketch map and schedule were reproduced in the deed of conveyance of 21 Jan. 1919 at CA KK/2/1/1/3/13.
