Justin Hyland OFM Cap., guardian, Holy Trinity Friary, Cork, concerning a dispute with a Mrs Cussen, a tenant of 16 Queen Street (later Father Mathew Street), over repairs to the roof of the said property which she believes the Capuchins, as landlords, are responsible for.

Articles of contract for construction of High Altar

Articles of contract of Fr. Cherubini Mazzini OSFC, Queen Street, with Joseph O’Reilly, 4 Anglesea Street, Cork, sculptor, for the work on the High Altar to be erected in Holy Trinity Church, Charlotte Quay, Cork. The contract refers to certain stipulations and conditions including the superintendence of Fr. Caesar Pascal OSFC over the work. The specification for the work is annexed to the contract which is to be completed for the total cost of £169. The specification outlines the design, ornamentation and materials to be used in the construction of the new altar. It also includes two small line drawings of the finials, designed by P.J. Scannell, 14 Douglas Street, which will support some of the statutes surrounding the altar.

Letter of contract by John Delany to Fr. Simeon Gaudillot OSFC (1836-1910), Commissary General, undertaking ‘to build the front wing of the Capuchin Convent, the ambulatory and the boundary wall according to the plans and specification proposed by Mr. Robert Walker, architect’. With a similar copy contract on the reverse in respect of the library wing of the said building.

Copy proposal from Walter G. Doolin for completion of Holy Trinity Church

Copy or draft proposal from Walter Glynn Doolin (1850-1902) for the completion of the façade and portico of Holy Trinity Church, Cork. Doolin proposes to complete the work for the sum of £6,000. It appeared that Doolin won the limited competition for the work on the façade of the Church but the designs of Dominick J. Coakley (d. 1914) were executed.
