Programme card for the centenary celebrations of the inauguration of the temperance campaign by Fr. Theobald Mathew OSFC at Holy Trinity Church (presided over by the Most Rev. Daniel Colahan, Bishop of Cork) and at City Hall Cork (oration delivered by the Most Rev. Jeremiah Kinane, 1884-1959, Bishop of Waterford and Lismore).

History of Holy Trinity Church, 1832-1856

Notes on the history of Holy Trinity Church, Cork, by Fr. Stanislaus Kavanagh OFM Cap. from the laying of the foundation stone in October 1832 to circa 1856. Reference is made to the construction, financing and decoration of the Church. Some of the notes were copied from ‘an account book of the Cork community preserved in the Archives in Dublin’ (See CA HT/3/1/1). Also, a typescript copy of an article on the Church from 'Battersby’s Catholic Registry' (1851), p. 221.

New Friary for Capuchin Order opened at Ards

Complete copies of the 'Derry Journal' (15 Nov. 1966, 18 Nov. 1966 and 19 Nov. 1966), 'Donegal Press' (18 Nov. 1966), and 'Donegal Democrat' (18 Nov. 1966) which include extensive reportage on the opening of the new Ard Mhuire Friary and Capuchin House of Studies. Includes photographic prints of Bishop Anthony McFeely (1909-1986) blessing the new church and friary and various friars and attendees at the celebration. The file also includes some loose clippings of articles (from the 'Irish Press' and 'Irish Independent') covering the opening.
