A memorandum outlining ‘some reasons for retaining our foundation in the Diocese of Raphoe’. The document provides bullet points on the rationale for retaining Ard Mhuire Friary. The document notes: 'To give up Ard Mhuire would not be good for the Province. It would mean bad distribution of Friars in the country, virtually confining them to three cities, Cork, Dublin and Kilkenny. Ard Mhuire can now be said to be our only country house. … Ard Mhuire is [also] one of the few foundations of clerical religious in Northern Ireland'. Reference is also made to the attitudes of the local parish clergy and lay community who are very favourably disposed to the friars remaining in the locality.
Note on the history and geography of the Caprivi Strip committed to the care of the Irish Capuchins ‘temporarily in 1944, and permanently after the War’. The memorandum refers to the establishment on 6 August 1944 of the Holy Family mission in the Eastern Caprivi Strip.

Memorandum of agreement between Patrick Pearse, St. Enda’s School, Rathfarnham, Dublin, and Deborah Alexander Wright, 11 Brighton Road, Terenure, Dublin, re the letting by the former of a portion of the garden at Cullenswood House, Oakley Road, Rathmines, Dublin. The rent payable is £4 2s 6d per quarter. The memorandum appears to be in Pearse’s hand and is signed by him.
Memorandum of agreement of Stephen Lalor [var. Lawlor], builder, Walkin Street, Kilkenny with Fr. Fidelis Neary OSFC, guardian, Capuchin Friary. The agreement (compiled by M.M. Murphy, solicitor) stipulates that Lalor will complete the building works on the Capuchin Friary and Chapel in Kilkenny according to the specifications set down by Samuel Francis Hynes, architect. The total cost of the works and labour is £3,430 13s 4d.
Memorandum of agreement between George Lynch, 43 Lower Sackville Street, and Bernard O’Reilly, 32 Smithfield. The memorandum affirms that O’Reilly will become Lynch’s tenant for the dairy yard in Carter’s Lane at the yearly rent of £12. (See CA CS/2/2/8/1).
