Ettore Felici, Apostolic Nuncio, at St. Mary of the Angels, Church Street, Dublin, on 8 September 1950. The attendees included President Sean T. O’Kelly, the Taoiseach, John A. Costello, and Éamon de Valera. The file includes cuttings of photographic prints of the consecration mass, the departure of Bishop O’Shea OFM Cap. from Dublin to return to Africa (with Fr. Colman Griffin OFM Cap., Provincial Minister). Includes cuttings from the 'Dublin Evening Mail' and the 'Irish Press'.

The booklet contains photographic prints of the friars.

Proposal for the construction of St. Bonaventure’s Formation Centre, Lusaka, Zambia. The proposal includes details re expenditure for the construction and copy construction plans. With a letter from Fr. Angelus O’Neill OFM Cap., Provincial Minister, to Br. Declan O’Callaghan OFM Cap. offering his support for an application to the General Curia for funding for the project (13 Sept. 1990).

Religious Sisters in Africa

A collection of black and white and colour photographic prints associated with the work of religious sisters mainly in Northern Rhodesia (later Zambia). Most of the prints are not captioned. The file includes prints collected for publication in 'The Capuchin Annual' and 'The Father Mathew Record'. The captioned photographs include:
• Sisters in a garden with African children, Basutoland (later Lesotho).
• A sister and an African worker draining a marshy area.
• ‘The sisters wear white habits when nursing’. (The Father Mathew Record).
• Nurses’ accommodation – ‘Sister and nurses sitting on a Basutoland blanket with students’. (Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape, South Africa).

• ‘A petrified Sr. Lelia going to visit one of Sr. Elizabeth’s gardens – her first trip in a canoe’.
• ‘Sister Josephine FMDM, the sister in charge of leprosarium in Mangango. She comes from Leitrim’.

35 mm colour slides of photographs taken by Br. Joseph Murphy OFM Cap. (1929-2009). The majority are images of missionary work in Zambia. Br. Joseph ministered in Zambia from 1958-79. Many of the slides relate to the visitation of the mission undertaken by Fr. Berard Creed OFM Cap. (1923-2004), Provincial Minister, in 1968. The file includes:

The albums cover the years from 1971-1998 and include some personal, family and holiday (Ireland, Poland, Italy, and Bulgaria) photographs and prints relating to Fr. Owen’s missionary work in New Zealand and later in Zambia. He was resident in Zambia from 1978 to 1997. Most of the prints have been annotated by Fr. Owen on the reverse. The prints include:
