Flier for Ard Mhuire Friary

A vocations’ flier for the House of Theological Studies at Ard Mhuire Capuchin Friary. It is noted that ‘since 1932 Ard Mhuire has produced well over a hundred priests. They are now labouring on the Irish Capuchin foreign mission in Africa, in the United States of America, and at home in Ireland’. The flier also has a photographic print of the exterior of the old Ard Mhuire Friary (formerly Ards House).

Flier advertising plays to be performed by pupils of Scoil Éanna (St. Enda’s School), Cullenswood House, Oakley Road, on 5-7 February 1910. The plays to be performed were ‘The Destruction of the Hostel’ by Padraic Colum and ‘Iosagán’ by Patrick Pearse. Includes lists of performers in each of the plays and contextual notes on the plays.

Flier re the Dublin Celebrations of the Father Mathew Centenary

Flier giving a schedule of various events associated with the Father Mathew Centenary in Dublin in October 1890. The flier refers to the ceremony (19 October 1890) for the laying of the top-stone of the pedestal upon which the Father Mathew Statue on Sackville Street will be erected. Other events include a grand concert and public meetings in the Rotunda, Dublin. Printed by the 'Freeman’s Journal', Ltd., Dublin.

Fliers seeking funds

Fliers requesting assistance from the public for the renovation of St. Mary of the Angels. A flier from Fr. Angelus O’Neill OFM Cap., guardian, declares that the ‘Church was built over 90 years ago. … Since then no major work has been carried out. We have been advised by our architects that the roof must be replaced immediately. The total cost will not be less than £35,000’.
