Report on the Livingstone Mission (Zambia) compiled by Fr. Theophilus Murphy OFM Cap. for the Irish Capuchin Provincial Chapter. Fr. Theophilus referred to the consecration in February 1975 of Monsignor Adrian Mung’andu (c.1920-2007) as the first locally-born African Bishop of the Diocese of Livingstone. The installation was a landmark as the Diocese ‘ceased to be entrusted to the Capuchin Order’. He also noted that ‘about 90% of the priests working in the Livingstone Diocese are Capuchins’. Luke Browne OFM Cap. and Fr. Eugene Mooney OFM Cap. (1934-1998).

Scale: 9 miles to 1 inch Map of Barotse Province in Northern Rhodesia drawn by A.R. Stevens in 1930. The map shows the area from Balovale to Livingstone. The original key to the map shows the locations of mission stations established by the South African General Mission, the Seventh-Day Adventist Mission, the Plymouth Brethren Mission, and the Paris Evangelical Mission Society. Later endorsements on the map (in pencil) show major roads and railways and the locations of missions and schools founded by the Irish Capuchin friars.
