The article is illustrated with photographs of Irish Capuchin friars who ministered in the Holy Family Mission in Katima Mulilo including Fr. John Grace OFM Cap., Fr. Michael Murphy OFM Cap., Fr. Luke Browne OFM Cap. and Fr. Eugene Mooney OFM Cap. (1934-1998).

Scale: 9 miles to 1 inch Map of Barotse Province in Northern Rhodesia drawn by A.R. Stevens in 1930. The map shows the area from Balovale to Livingstone. The original key to the map shows the locations of mission stations established by the South African General Mission, the Seventh-Day Adventist Mission, the Plymouth Brethren Mission, and the Paris Evangelical Mission Society. Later endorsements on the map (in pencil) show major roads and railways and the locations of missions and schools founded by the Irish Capuchin friars.

After a while one gets accustomed to their strange faces. The little fellow second from right, front row, must have been playing rugby’.
A postcard print of a girl celebrating her first communion. Annotated on reverse: ‘Miss Josephine Philomena Mariam Pillai of the Good Shepherd Convent, Kotahena, on the day of her first holy communion. The Good Shepherd Nuns are in charge of several Catholic convents on the island and do immense good to Ceylonese Catholic children’.
