Copy print of the Most Rev. John Evangelist McBride OFM (1903-1991), Bishop of Kokstad, South Africa. The print is on the reverse of a memorial card which notes that he was professed on 17 Sept. 1925; Ordained Priest on 3 July 1927; Ordained Bishop on 25 July 1949. He served as Bishop of Kokstad until 1978.

Manuscript additions to the map (in pencil) roughly indicate the location of the Irish Capuchin churches in the Cape Province: Langa, Athlone, Parow, the Welcome Estate and Matroosfontein. A distinction is made between locations with both churches and mission schools and areas where only a school is present. A manuscript stamp indicates that the map was sent to Fr. Edwin Fitzgibbon OFM Cap., Provincial Minister, St. Bonaventure’s Friary, Cork.
