Receipts for rent payable out of 26 Cook Street, Cork, from Fr. Thomas O’Callaghan to Walter Thornhill & Sons, estate & insurance agency, 46 South Mall, Cork.

Rental and account of Mrs Alicia Louisa Seward. The rental includes entries under the headings of ‘denominations, tenant’s names, gale days, yearly rents, total due, total received, allowances, arrears and observations’. The denominations include premises on Queen Street (a portion of the Assembly Rooms) and on Father Mathew Quay, the latter of which is occupied by the Capuchin friars. The yearly rents amount to £151 5s 6d.

Requisitions on title on behalf of the trustees of the Cork Assembly Rooms relating to rents payable under the lease of certain premises on Queen Street dated 1 Jan. 1846 (see CA HT/2/1/1/9). The requisitions also ask for negative searches in the Registry of Deeds against Fr. Thomas Matthew O’Connor OSFC, Fr. Michael Leonard Brophy OSFC and Fr. Michael Fidelis Neary OSFC. Schedules of title deeds and leases of properties held by the Capuchins on Father Mathew Quay and on Father Mathew Street, Cork. The deeds were received from the Official Assignee, Four Courts, Dublin. The lists are titled: lots 1-3, and were compiled by Donal McMenent, solicitor. The numbering system devised for these lists is still present on some of the deeds catalogued in this collection.
