Copy or draft proposal from Walter Glynn Doolin (1850-1902) for the completion of the façade and portico of Holy Trinity Church, Cork. Doolin proposes to complete the work for the sum of £6,000. It appeared that Doolin won the limited competition for the work on the façade of the Church but the designs of Dominick J. Coakley (d. 1914) were executed.

Copy deed of release of Mary and Anne Jacob, New Ross, County Wexford, to James Beale, Cork, for £307 13s 10d in discharge of a sum of £500 arising out of portion (two-thirds) of charge/legacy on properties on Queen Street and elsewhere in Cork bequeathed to Mary and Anne Jacob in the will of their late mother, Hannah Jacob. The schedule includes property on Charlotte Quay held under lease (4 Dec. 1844) for 800 years subject to a head rent of £60; premises on Queen Street held under lease (1 Mar. 1845) for 800 years subject to a head rent of £25; and premises on Penrose Quay held under lease (27 Sept. 1875) for a residue of a term of 999 years subject to a head rent of £30 per annum during the life of Sarah Deaves. Copy will of Daniel Murphy, Bellville, Borough of Cork, merchant, extracted from the Principal Register of the Court of Probate, Ireland. The probate was granted on 13 Oct. 1856. He bequeaths to his son, Nicholas Daniel Murphy, the ‘residue and remainder of such property [on Charlotte Quay], lands, premises, monies, securities, goods, chattels and effects whatsoever and wheresoever situate as I may die, seized, possessed of or entitled to in possession’. Provision is also made for his other children. He also appoints his son executor to his will. It is noted in the margin to the copy probate that Daniel Murphy died on 9 Feb. 1856 with an inventory of £14,000. Copy made on 12 Dec. 1874 by William Wiley, Registrar.

Copy will of Robert Warner, 71 Penrose Quay, Cork. Warner bequeaths an annuity of £20 per annum to Eliza Wright Walsh and her sister Mary Anne Margaret Walsh ‘arising and payable out of certain premises situate on Charlotte Quay in the City of Cork held by me under lease bearing the date the 4th of December 1844’. He bequeaths his interest in a dwelling house and shop situated on Penrose Quay, held under lease from Mistress Sarah Deaves, to his son (also Robert) ‘with all the stock fixtures and utensils in trade therein … subject to the express condition that he does not intermarry with Annie Farrell otherwise Boland or any woman professing or being of the Roman Catholic Religion’. Certified copy of the will made by Diarmuid Coffey, Assistant Deputy Keeper, Public Record Office of Ireland, 22 Dec. 1950. The copy will also affirms that Robert Warner died on 20 May 1877 and that the administration of the said will was granted to his son. Probate granted on 4 Feb. 1881.

Copy will of Ebenezer Morrison of the city of Cork, extracted from the Registry of the Diocese of Cork and Ross. He bequeaths to Rev. Archdeacon Corker and Robert Rogers his interest ‘in the marsh called Island Nagay otherwise Morrison’s Island held under a lease made by Charles Dunbarr, and also in the Marsh thereunto joining held under a lease made by Nathaniel Lavite, deceased, … situate in the south suburbs of the city of Cork’ in trust for his daughter Margaret Morrison.
