Copy note re Harry Clarke stained glass windows in Holy Trinity Church in Cork. It is remarked that the 'windows were designed and made in the studios of Clark[e] and Son under the supervision of Harry Clarke RHA (now deceased. 1933) and erected in the Franciscan Capuchin Church, Cork, 1928 / The above is in the handwriting of the late Fr. Martin [Hyland OFM Cap.] and he remark[s] that it is a true copy of that supplied by Mr. Clark[e]'. This typescript copy note is pasted into the volume at p. 7.

Patrick Kelleher OSFC and Fr. Michael O’Shea OSFC, Holy Trinity Friary, Cork, of the residue of the several leases referred to in CA HT/2/1/2/30 of lands and properties in Cork city and at Rochestown, County Cork. With a photocopy of original manuscript deed and a typescript schedule of the leases referred to in the foregoing conveyance.

Capuchin Friars with Donal Óg Ó Ceallacháin, Lord Mayor of Cork

An image of Donal Óg Ó Ceallacháin (Donal O’Callaghan), front row, third from the left, Lord Mayor of Cork, with some Capuchin friars in 1921. Ó Ceallacháin succeeded Terence MacSwiney (d. 25 Oct 1920) as Lord Mayor in November 1920. He was the third republican mayor elected in Cork. Later, he was opposed to the Anglo-Irish Treaty. The group also includes Frank Daly (1884-1950), seated, second from the left, who served as mayor from 1930-2, and was later a TD for Cork from 1943-8. Professor PJ Merriman, President of University College Cork, seated, third from the right, is also present. The friars include Fr. Fiacre Brophy OFM Cap. (1888-1926), seated, first on the left, Fr. Martin Hyland OFM Cap (1881-1933), seated, fourth from the left. The group also includes Mr. Simcox, Mike Ahern (Prefect of the Third Order of St. Francis), Fr. Finbarr O’Callaghan OFM Cap., Fr. Bernardine Harvey OFM Cap., Fr. Clement Connolly OFM Cap., Fr. Fidelis Neary OFM Cap., (standing, third from the left), Fr. Pius Duggan OFM Cap., and Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap. (standing, first on the right). An annotation on the reverse lists the individuals present in the photograph.

Bill and certificate of costs to James Finbarre McMullen (c.1909-1957), 30 South Mall, Cork, and Fr. Martin Hyland OFM Cap., guardian, for contract work by J.A. O’Connell & Sons, sculptors, and Bartholomew Barry, builder, in ‘erecting an Altar, marble rails and floor at the shrine of St. Anne in Father Mathew Church, Cork’, and for work on the new addition to the side of the Church leading to the vestry room.
