Particulars and conditions of sale of a leasehold interest in no. 24 South Mall, Cork (for the residue of a term of 800 years). The premises were held under the above-noted lease dated 28 Feb. 1805 (see CA HT/2/1/1/28). The biddings acknowledge that Florence O’Sullivan of Kinsale, Cork, purchased the property for £165 with £41 5s paid to William Guest Lane & Co., agents for Francis Henry Walker, the vendor.

Copy assignment by Charles Henry Jermyn and Aileen Dorothy Jermyn to the trustees of the Protestant Hall and Assembly Rooms Association of several leasehold premises located at no. 22 South Mall (known as the Assembly Rooms), vested in the late Charles Jermyn, father of the said Charles Henry Jermyn. Numerous annotations in pencil have been made to the copy by solicitors indicating that the trustees (also termed ‘vendors’) intend to sell their interest in the respective leases at public auction. An image of Donal Óg Ó Ceallacháin (Donal O’Callaghan), front row, third from the left, Lord Mayor of Cork, with some Capuchin friars in 1921. Ó Ceallacháin succeeded Terence MacSwiney (d. 25 Oct 1920) as Lord Mayor in November 1920. He was the third republican mayor elected in Cork. Later, he was opposed to the Anglo-Irish Treaty. The group also includes Frank Daly (1884-1950), seated, second from the left, who served as mayor from 1930-2, and was later a TD for Cork from 1943-8. Professor PJ Merriman, President of University College Cork, seated, third from the right, is also present. The friars include Fr. Fiacre Brophy OFM Cap. (1888-1926), seated, first on the left, Fr. Martin Hyland OFM Cap (1881-1933), seated, fourth from the left. The group also includes Mr. Simcox, Mike Ahern (Prefect of the Third Order of St. Francis), Fr. Finbarr O’Callaghan OFM Cap., Fr. Bernardine Harvey OFM Cap., Fr. Clement Connolly OFM Cap., Fr. Fidelis Neary OFM Cap., (standing, third from the left), Fr. Pius Duggan OFM Cap., and Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap. (standing, first on the right). An annotation on the reverse lists the individuals present in the photograph.
