1923082 Burke, C.P., Edmund: General Documents: Irish Papal Army

Burke, C.P., Edmund: General Documents: Irish Papal Army: letter from Marie O'Doherty, University College, Belgrove, Donnybrook, Dublin to Edmund, announcing the proposed celebrations to commemorate the men of St. Patrick's Battalion of the Papal Army who fought in 1860. She mentions Edmund's grandfather (maternal?), who evidently was a member of that battalion and reference is made to his cap and a photograph, which had been given to a Fr. Crean. A lecture on the Papal Battalion will be given by Prof. McBride at the Annual General Meeting of the Military Society, and the Society would be grateful if Edmund would speak to that paper. (See following items.)
