Copy assignment by Jeremiah Easter Esq., County of Essex, Lieutenant, 23rd Regiment of Light Dragoons, to Frances and Grace Blair, Upper Berkeley Street, Dublin. The assignment recites the will made by the late James Montgomery Blair (dated 6 Nov. 1838) and the appointment of Jeremiah Easter as his sole executor (See CA KK/2/1/1/3/1). The deed assigns all the real estate and leasehold property situated in Kilkenny city formerly belonging to James Montgomery Blair and which were bequeathed to Jeremiah Easter by the aforementioned will to his daughters Frances and Grace Blair. Consideration: £100.

With copy schedule of the properties to which the foregoing deed refers. Number eight in the schedule refers to the house and concerns on Walkin Street held under a lease of lives renewable forever dated 25 May 1835. (See CA KK/2/1/1/1/4).

John Empson, Montreal, British America, formerly a civil engineer, to Joseph Empson Esq., Parliament Street, Kilkenny city, of an annuity of £12 12s payable out of the annual rents and profits of certain lands referred to in the assignment of 14 Dec. 1864 (See CA KK/2/1/1/1/7). With the consent of Arthur Joshua Boyd, solicitor, and trustee. The assignment has the same attached schedule as appears in CA KK/2/1/1/1/7.

Registered copy certificates of death of Richard Samuel Owen Robinson (d. 8 Jan. 1912); Frances Blair (22 Dec. 1880); Richard Bell (d. 28 Dec. 1884); Fanny Blair (d. 15 Dec. 1884); Henrietta Robinson (d. 6 Apr. 1916). The copies were requested by Rev. Andrew Craig Robinson to prove his title to properties on Walkin Street, Kilkenny.

Copy conveyance and trust deed

Copy conveyance by Grace and Frances Blair to Richard Bell Robinson of all the right and equity of redemption in houses, tenements, hereditaments and premises situated on Walkin Street, Kilkenny, in consideration of the payment of annual annuity of £20 to Grace and Frances Blair. Robinson to hold said properties forever upon trust to keep said properties in repair, to pay the mortgage interest and also upon trust for Samuel Owen Robinson and Andrew Craig Robinson in equal proportions as tenants in common after the death of the survivor of Grace and Frances Blair. Copy made on c.3 June 1916. It is noted that Grace Blair died on 8 Dec. 1880 and Frances Blair died on 15 Oct. 1884.

Copy deed of conveyance from the FMC Trust to Edward and Corann Loughlin

Copy deed of conveyance from the FMC Trust, c/o Capuchin Friary, Kilkenny, to Edward and Corann Loughlin, 31 Thorndale Drive, Malahide Road, Artane, Dublin 5, of all premises and property situated at the junction of Friary Street and Garden Row with the yard at the rear thereof held in fee simple and subject to the terms and conditions as set down in the fee farm grant (29 Oct. 1898) from Penelope H. Colles and others to Fr. Matthew O’Connor OSFC and Fr. Fidelis Neary OSFC at an annual rent of £13 7s 8d. Consideration: £101,000. With draft copies, draft memorandum of agreement, draft conditions of sale and a blank memorial for registering the said deed in the Registry of Deeds.

Copy Fee Farm Grants

Copies (made by Michael Buggy, solicitor) of two fee farm grants by James Butler, 2nd Duke of Ormonde to Mary Pape of houses and premises on Walkin Street, Kilkenny, lately held by Alderman John Pape, deceased, in consideration of £24 13s 4d at the yearly rent of £6 3s 4d (9 Sept. 1705); and in consideration of £81 17s 0d at the yearly rent of £4 with ‘two fatt capons as accates or four shillings sterling per annum in lieu thereof’ (25 Sept. 1705). With a manuscript copy of the deed of 9 Sept. 1705.

Copy mortgages from Rev. Andrew Craig Robinson to Michael Buggy

Copy mortgage from Rev. Andrew Craig Robinson, Ballymoney Rectory, County Cork, and Richard Samuel Owen Robinson, 4 Woodstock Terrace, St. Simon’s Road, South Sea, Hampshire, to Michael Buggy, Parliament Street, Kilkenny, solicitor, of premises on Walkin Street, for £100 at 7 per cent interest to be paid within 30 days. With similar copy mortgages between the aforementioned parties (dated 20 Aug. 1907 for a further £150 and 21 Nov. 1908 for a further £100). The file includes numerous copies of the said mortgages which have been endorsed by solicitors and draft reconveyances of the said mortgages from Buggy to Rev. Robinson dated 30 May 1916 and 21 Jan. 1919. The reconveyances note that the principal money and interest secured by the above-noted mortgages of 10 June 1907, 20 Aug. 1907 and 21 Nov. 1908 have been paid.

Letter from Robert Branigan, secretary, to Fr. Joseph Fenlon OSFC, guardian, forwarding a copy motion from a meeting of the council of the Third Order regarding the erection of ‘a suitable memorial tablet’ in the Church of St. Francis in memory of the lately deceased Fr. Chrysostom Sutton OSFC, formerly spiritual director of the Third Order.
