Community lists for the Capuchin Friary, Walkin Street, Kilkenny. The lists are titled ‘Family of Kilkenny’ and are dated: 12 Dec. 1895, 5 Sept. 1901, 22 Sept. 1913, and 10 Aug. 1916.
The subseries contains letters to Capuchin friars in Kilkenny concerning missions, retreats, the appointment of confessors and notices of jubilees, anniversaries and deaths. Many of the letters are from the Provincial Minster to the guardians of the Friary and relate to the internal administration of the Order. The section includes a large register book (CA KK/1/3/1) which contains copies of numerous circular letters and memoranda from Ministers General and Provincial Ministers.

Circular letter from the Bishop of Ossory [the Most Rev. Patrick Collier] to the clergy warning of the dangers of ‘performances … by professional companies in the Theatre in Kilkenny [and] cinema entertainments for Sunday nights’. The circular letter is not dated and is incomplete.
Chronology (probably compiled by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap.) of important events associated with the Capuchin presence in Kilkenny dating from 1643 to 1876. Many of the later entries are references from local newspapers.
