The ledger records the amount of money (stipends) accruing from ‘masses received as per the large book’ (see CA KK/1/1/3/2) and ‘masses applied or sent away’ (said by the community, said in the [Poor Clare] Convent, and sent to the Provincial Minister. The ledger is periodically signed by the guardian and by the Provincial Minister at visitations.

The title is given on the first page: ‘Liber missarum manualium commenced August 1886, Fr. Matthew O’Connor, guardian’. Monthly totals are periodically given.

Manuscript Memoranda re books held in the Kilkenny Friary Library. The notes were probably compiled by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap. and Fr. Stanislaus Kavanagh OFM Cap. Particular reference is made to annotations, marginalia and inscriptions found on the frontispieces of the volumes. Some of the memoranda are very fragmentary and incomplete.
