Capuchin Friars, Kilkenny

Two plates with images of separate groups of Capuchin friars in Kilkenny. The file includes an annotated envelope which reads ‘two films on plates of group in Kilkenny’. The annotation (by Fr. Angelus Healy OFM Cap.) provides some names but they are illegible.

Capuchin Friars, Holy Trinity Friary, Cork

Two plates showing a group of four Capuchin friars in the garden of Holy Trinity Friary, Cork. The cover indicates that the friars are (from left) Fr. Stanislaus Kavanagh OFM Cap. (1876-1965), Fr. John Butler OFM Cap. (1873-1950), Fr. Bernadine Harvey OFM Cap. (1874-1953) and Fr. Joseph Fenlon OFM Cap. (1875-1963).

Capuchin Friars

The file contains seven plates showing unidentified Capuchin friars. The plates are labelled within covers as 68 A-G. The plate at 68 B may show Fr. Joseph Harkins OSFC (1853-1888). See CA PH-1-46.

Bridges of Ross, County Clare

A glass stereo plate image of four women at the seaside cliffs known as Bridges of Ross, on the north side of the Loop Head peninsula in County Clare. A duplicate plate is extant at CA PH-1-36-A.

Acts of Professions of the Irish Capuchin Martyrs

A file containing three plates with images of the original acts of professions of two seventeenth century Irish Capuchin martyrs, Fr. Fiacre Tobin OSFC (c.1620-1656) and Fr. John Baptist Dowdall OSFC (c.1626-1710). The plates are labelled a-c. Fiacre Tobin’s profession is dated 2 July 1638. John Baptist Dowdall’s profession (at the Irish Capuchin friary in Charleville, France) is dated 5 October 1652.
