Wexford Town

A postcard print of Wexford Town as seen from the opposite Ferrybank across the mouth of the River Slaney and Wexford Harbour. Printed title on card reads 'Wexford from Ferry Bank'.

West Gate Tower, Wexford

A view of West Gate Tower in Wexford in about 1950. The tower in the photograph was originally called Selskar Gate and served as a private entrance to Selskar Abbey rather than as a public town gate. The image shows the structure in a rather dilapidated state (complete with pigeon coops fixed to the walls). In the 1990s, Selskar Gate underwent a complete restoration and was renamed West Gate Tower serving as an important reminder of Wexford’s built heritage.

Washington Street, Cork

The corner of Washington Street and the Grand Parade in Cork in about 1935. The family-owned business, T.W. Finn & Co. (now known as Finn’s Corner), is still a well-known sports clothing retailer in the city.

Views of Irish Life

A bound volume containing photographic prints complied for publication by Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. and Fr. Henry Anglin OFM Cap. A manuscript annotation on the spine reads ‘Views’. Most of the prints are not captioned. Many of the prints are of scenic locations in Ireland (particularly on the western coast), and of major Catholic churches and places of worship. The album includes the following prints (the index number refers to the pagination within the volume):
