An aerial photograph of the Church of Christ the King in Cabra in Dublin. The church was designed by the firm of John Joseph Robinson (1887-1965) and Richard Cyril Keefe (c.1889-1965) and was formally opened in October 1933. A printed annotation on the reverse provides provenance information: ‘Army Air Corps / Date: 20 Feb. 1937 / Area: Cabra Chapel / Lens: 10” / Height: 600 m’.

A view of the original statue of Saint Patrick on the Hill of Tara in County Meath in about 1945. This statue, attributed to the sculptor Thomas Curry (c.1821-1911), was erected in the late nineteenth century. The Office of Public Works (OPW) removed the statue for repair in 1992. During the removal the statue was damaged beyond repair and, afterwards, was further damaged by vandals. A replacement statue of Saint Patrick was unveiled (at a different location on the Hill of Tara) in 2000.

Postcard print of a drawing of the North Camp, Frongoch, Wales, by Cathal MacDubhghaill. Frongoch was described as the ‘University of the Revolution’. Among the internees in the camp were leading republicans such as Michael Collins, Terence MacSwiney, Richard Mulcahy, and Gerry Boland.

A photographic print of an election poster encouraging the public to vote for W.T. Cosgrave as Sinn Féin MP for Kilkenny city in the parliamentary by-election in 1917. Cosgrave, who was a veteran of the 1916 Rising, was victorious in the by-election, defeating John Magennis of the Irish Parliamentary Party. Cosgrave would go on to serve for ten years (from 1922-32) as President of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State.
