Browne Clayton Monument, Carrigbyrne, County Wexford

A postcard print of the Browne-Clayton Monument on Carrigadaggan Hill, Carrigbyrne, County Wexford. This Corinthian column was designed by Thomas Alfred Cobden (1794-1842) in about 1840 at the request of Robert Browne-Clayton to perpetuate the memory of his comrade, General Sir Ralph Abercromby (1731-1801), who died in Egypt during the Napoleonic Wars.
