The Franciscan Brothers left Roundstone and their monastery was sold to the Irish Development Authority (IDA) in 1974. The building was subsequently demolished, and the site was repurposed by the IDA into Michael Killeen Park, a small indigenous craft centre with various factory shops. All that remains of the former monastery is the bell tower.
