Draft of an article by Fr. Clifford J. Stevens titled ‘Father Flanagan of Boys Town’. The article was written in 1967 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of Boys Town, Nebraska, by Fr. Edward Joseph Flanagan. Fr. Stevens was a graduate of Boys Town and served as a chaplain in the United States Air Force stationed in Japan.

Revenue Accounts for Patrick Pearse and St. Enda’s School

Revenue accounts for Patrick Pearse and Saint Enda’s School in Rathfarnham, for the year ended 30 June 1912. The accounts provide details of expenditure and income relating to the operation of the school. Also includes a statement of the financial affairs of the school as of 30 June 1912 with details of liabilities and assets. The accounts were prepared by D. O’Connor, chartered accountants, 13 Westmoreland Street, Dublin. He notes that ‘the statement of affairs was prepared from the books, and from creditors’ statements of account, and from information supplied by Mr. Pearse. The valuations of assets were made by Mr. Pearse’.

Copy circular letter from Patrick Pearse re the financial situation at St. Enda’s School. The letter adds ‘As the yearly loss on St. Ita’s (the girls’ College) was very heavy, it was decided in the general interests not to re-open it’.

Memorandum of agreement between Patrick Pearse, St. Enda’s School, Rathfarnham, Dublin, and Deborah Alexander Wright, 11 Brighton Road, Terenure, Dublin, re the letting by the former of a portion of the garden at Cullenswood House, Oakley Road, Rathmines, Dublin. The rent payable is £4 2s 6d per quarter. The memorandum appears to be in Pearse’s hand and is signed by him.
