'Poblacht na hEireann (War News)', No. 47, 24 August 1922. This edition was published two days after the death of Michael Collins, the National Army's Commander-in-Chief, at Béal na Bláth in County Cork. Its editorial on Collins commences: 'Yesterday the Nation was shocked by the news of Michael Collins death … now his boundless energy and inexhaustible resource are no more ...' This is one of the last issues of 'War News' produced by Erskine Childers in West Cork before THE encircling National Army made anti-Treaty positions untenable, and he had to move the printing press into a vacant cottage at Ballyvourney. Helping him to print his news sheets were Sean O'Faolain, Frank O'Connor, Sean Hendrick (all famous writers), and R. Longford who later established the Lee Press in Cork city.

'The New World' was published in Chicago and claimed to be the ‘largest Catholic newspaper in the United States’. The file contains the issue: 11 Aug. 1916 (vol. xxv, No. 6). The paper contains an article titled ‘How they butchered James Connolly’. (p. 4).

The file contains the following editions of this illustrated weekly newspaper: 8 July 1922 (No. 4,342. Vol. 161); 15 July 1922 (4,343. Vol. 161). The editions contain numerous photographic prints of the fighting in Dublin at the outbreak of the Civil War. Includes a photograph of ‘Father Dominic [O'Connor OFM Cap.], who was reported to have been with the Rebels in the Four Courts’.
'The United Irishman' was an Irish nationalist newspaper co-founded by Arthur Griffith and William Rooney. The first publication was issued on 4 Mar. 1899 it ran until 1906. It was sub-titled ‘A National Weekly Review’. The file contains the issue of 23 Apr. 1904 (Vol. 11 No. 269). This edition published copy correspondence from the Capuchin Friary in Cork relating to the ‘Vindication of Monsignor Persico’ (pp 2-3).
