A pamphlet in the republican interest by Frank Gallagher who worked alongside Erskine Childers on the republican publicity staff. During this period Gallagher and Robert Brennan were significant contributors to the 'Irish Bulletin'. Gallagher served long stints in prison due to his IRA involvement and went on many hunger strikes (the shortest lasting three days, the longest 41 days).

Calendar of Irish Capuchin missionaries in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) and South Africa from 1929-38 giving details of where each friar was stationed and the time spent at each mission station. Includes a clipping of an article on the Irish Capuchin mission in Barotseland, Northern Rhodesia, taken from 'The Father Mathew Record'. The extract is extant on pp 42-5 in the volume compiled Fr. Albeus McQuillan OFM Cap. (1912-1989).

A republican flier titled ‘Can Ireland Stand Alone? / Is she rich enough to set up as an independent nation’. The flier was published by Sinn Féin in Dublin and is dated 28 August 1918.

Candlesticks

A pair of gold candlesticks gifted to Fr. Theobald Mathew OSFC. The base of the candlesticks are engraved: ‘Very Revd. T. Mathew President / Very Rev. J.J. Murphy Vice-President / Cork Total Abstinence Benefit Society / AD January 1842’.
