Marina Generating Station, Cork

A view of the Marina electricity generating station on the south bank of the River Lee in Cork. Commissioned in 1954, the station is situated in the city's docklands close to Páirc Uí Chaoimh and to the former Ford factory site. The station was closed in September 2018.

An aerial view of Marina Quay and the River Lee in Cork. The steamship in the upper left-hand corner of the photograph is the ‘Innisfallen’, built in 1930 for the City of Cork Steam Packet Company. This ship was lost off Liverpool on 21 December 1940.
